Welcome to the Magnolia Community Patrol Association

A Non-Profit Corporation in the State of Washington #603533255

Magnolia Patrol Association is a proud member of the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce and the Magnolia Community Council.

Due to an ongoing issue of rising property crimes in our neighborhood, the Magnolia Patrol Association began patrol for our neighborhood on December 4, 2015. The program is modeled after nearby neighborhoods with similar issues who have seen success in recent years. Based on standard contribution from the community, off duty police officers will patrol all areas of Magnolia.

Our organization is funded entirely by community contributions. Click here.

Paid Contributors: Standard contribution cost is $250 per year. Multiple contributions per household are possible.

PATROLS WILL OFFER:

  • Off-duty Seattle Police Officers in uniform, either driving unmarked private vehicles, or Seattle Police vehicles, walking or riding bikes (weather permitting).
  • Vacation Services - Officers can check your house if you are away.
  • Seattle Police officers in uniform in marked or unmarked vehicle will provide visibility and extra eyes in the community. They will patrol all areas of Magnolia and in the local business areas in the village.
  • The patrols will be random (day, night, dawn and twilght) so that criminals cannot predict when patrols will occur.
  • Package management (picking up your exposed package delivery’s and putting them in a safe place)
  • Patrol “hot spots” (of which there are several areas in our neighborhood)
  • Each contribution pays for one shift (approx. 4 hours) of patrolling.
  • Contributors will have access to the MPA message phone number.
  • MPA yard signs or window decals are planned or a possibility in the future.
  • Call 911 first and then call or text Magnolia Patrol message number for suspicious activities.

Non-Paid Contributors: No cost to magnolia residents.

PATROLS WILL OFFER:

  • The benefit of increased patrols in our neighborhood.
  • Patrol officers will not know who is a contributor and who is not. They will respond to all service request calls.
  • Off-duty Seattle Police Officers in uniform, either driving unmarked private vehicles, or Seattle Police vehicles, walking or riding bikes (weather permitting).
  • Off-duty Seattle Police officers in uniform in marked security vehicle will provide visibility and extra eyes in the community. They will patrol all areas of Magnolia and in the local business area in the village.
  • The patrols will be random (day, night, dawn and twilght) so that criminals cannot predict when patrols will occur.
  • Call 911 first and then call or text Magnolia Patrol message number for suspicious activities.

Paid Business Contributors: Services are also available to commercial businesses. Contributions cost for businesses are $250 a year.

Condominium & Apartment Association Paid Contributors: Contribution cost is $250 a year for every 10 units in a condo association or apartment complex. Please contact Info@magnoliapatrol.org for additional information.

PATROLS WILL OFFER:

  • The same benefits as a paid contributor.

If we reach 365 contributors, that would get us patrols every day of the year. Multiple contributions per household are possible, the more contributions we have the more patrols we have. The table below is just an estimate of the number of contributors with the number of days and hours of patrol coverage.

200 Standard Contribution - Two days a week 4 hours per shift.

500 Standard Contribution - Seven days a week 4 hours per shift.

800 Standard Contribution - Seven days a week 7 hours per shift.
